The Inner Ear

About: This was my first time experimenting with 3D animation software. This short clip was created for a first year introductory course in the BMC program. All models were sculpted from scratch in ZBrush and then brought into Cinema 4D to be rendered with Arnold. Extensive references were used to depict structures accurately. The opening segment shows a 3D orientation of the membranous (outer) and osseous (inner) labyrinths of the inner ear. It then zooms into the cochlea to show a close up view of the sensory hair cells within the organ of Corti, the structure responsible for detecting sound.
